Busy Season

Now that we are officially less than 6 months from the state pageant, I am really busy preparing for those days in Mexico, Missouri in June when it will be much warmer than it is today!  I have been working on a final song and style of dance for my talent, hair with the fabulous Kim Olsen at Hair Therapy and interview prep with my wonderful directors, Dawn and Dave.  The count down is on and there is so much to do, but it is all a lot of fun also.

2013!!

After all of the Holiday Festivities I am back into the school routine and working with my Russell Cheer Club again. The kids are ages 8-11 years old and they are a blast! We are working on a cheer dance for the Russell International Fair in the Spring.

Holiday Season

This week has been very busy. On Tuesday I led my cheer group. They are learning a lot and getting so good with some of our cheers. They are building up more stamina during our warm up session. We practiced our jumps this week and the girls really liked doing that. We are going to start working on a longer cheer dance involving different parts for the entire group. The girls are really excited about the cheer mix that I picked. I've got to keep them moving through the Holiday Season and staying fit!

Thanksgiving

At this time of year it is easy to reflect on all of the things that I am thankful for. I am thankful for the opportunity to represent Boone County this year and to have some wonderful pageant coaches to help me prepare for my next pageant event in June. I had the opportunity to work with Lisa and Bill over the Thanksgiving break and I really appreciate all of the great advice that I received. It was also nice getting to see my sister queens and spend a little time with them.

Columbia Holiday Parade

Today was a very fun day. We participated in the Columbia Holiday Parade and had great weather in the upper 60's for the parade. Before the parade we talked to MANY Girl Scouts who were in the parade today. The girls were so adorable and had lots of questions for us about how and why we were wearing our crowns.

We also visited with the Columbia High Steppers, the Oakland Junior High Band, Ronald McDonald himself and the Rock Bridge State Championship Golf Team.  I had the honor of having Jayla ride with me in the parade. Jayla is our Miss Columbia Princess and has gone through a lot in her life, as she has Cystic Fibrosis. It was a joy to get to ride with her today and throw out candy to the crowd. We had a lot of fun!

Food Bank Cranberry Crawl 5K/10K

What a great day for the Cranberry Crawl 5K/10K to benefit the Mid Missouri Food Bank. Lot's of runners and in the 60's in November. It was a great way to start my day and help the Food Bank reach their 15 million dollar goal.
