Busy Schedule

With less than 2 months to go before the pageant I am very busy getting ready for the state competition in June. There are gowns and talent to finalize and lots of paperwork and pictures to be turned into the state directors to make this year's show a success! Last week we had our pageant orientation and heard an inspiring speech from Katie Stam, Miss America 2009. It was an honor to get to meet her and hear her speak.
I am really getting excited to go to the state pageant in June and get to know all of the contestants better.

Pageant Prep Weekend

The Miss Missouri Pageant is only 79 days away and the Columbia/Boone County girls are prepping for the big week!  This weekend we were fortunate to work with the girls at Hair Therapy to help us come up with different styles for the pageant. We also worked on our interviewing skills with some pageant judges and our great pageant directors!  Thank you for supporting us!

Russell Elementary International Fair

Tonight I had the privilege to attend the Russell Elementary School International Fair. The Fair takes place every other year to celebrate the many cultures of children that attend the Elementary School. I have had the opportunity to work with these children this year through my platform, Operation Fit Kids. Tonight my Russell Cheer Club kids had the opportunity to perform a cheer dance to the Katy Perry song "Firework" that I choreographed and taught them over the past 4 months. They did a fabulous job and I was so proud of them! They performed to a packed gym and received a huge round of applause. Here are some of the pictures from the International Fair.

Frantic February

The last few weeks have been so busy with dance and pageant activities. I have auditioned for summer intensive programs with Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Orlando Ballet. I'm pleased to say that I was accepted into all three, but now I must make a decision of which to attend this summer.

Our first dance competitions have begun with Columbia Performing Arts Center and we are on the road to competitions many weekends to show off our dancing skills.

I've also been busy preparing my talent, paperwork and wardrobe for the state pageant in June. Summer seems so far away, but it will be here rather quickly.  This weekend I was able to participate in some mock interviews that my pageant board arranged to help me prepare for state. I am so thankful for the support that they give me on this journey in the pageant world. I have been given so many new opportunities that are helping me develop various skills. What a great experience this has been!
