Mediacom Connections

Today I was invited to speak with James Mouser from 'Mediacom Newsleaders' about the Miss America Pageant System and my platform, "Operation Fit Kids".  The 5 minute segment will be running on Mediacom channel 22 in Columbia and Boone County throughout the month of December. I really appreciate the opportunity to get the word out in Columbia about how important it is to develop a healthy lifestyle.

Fitness Fun Day - January 11, 2014

I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting a Fitness Fun Day at Gentry Middle School on January 14th, 2014.  This will be a day for kids in grades 1st - 5th grade to have an afternoon of fitness activities and fun. There will be a cheer clinic led by the Rock Bridge Cheerleaders. I will have a dance clinic led by myself and some of my dance friends. We will have a Fitness Fun Challenge in the gym to explore ways to stay fit and just have a lot of fun. The Fun Day will start at 1:00pm and end at 3:30pm.

We will have a special guest, Shelby Ringdahl, Miss Missouri, 2013 who will be available to speak with kids, help out with our fitness day, and take pictures if you like. Price is $20, and includes a snack and water bottle.   All of the proceeds will go to our Miss America charity, Children's Miracle Network.

Dream Factory 5K Day

I was so excited to get to help out at the Dream Factory 5K today. Dream Factory raises money to send a local child with a chronic illness on a trip of their choice. There were around 75 runners that participated and helped raise money for the organization.

Productive Day

Today was a day off of school, so I took advantage of the time to do some platform preparation. I met with the local Children's Miracle Network coordinator to make some plans for future ways that I can help out with fundraising and appearances for CMN here in Columbia. I was excited to make this contact so we could put our efforts together to raise money for Children's Hospital over the next year.

I was also able to get a little shopping in for some speaking engagements and appearances that I will be having in the next few months, as well as prepare for my Fitness Fun Day coming up on January 11th. This event will help promote my personal platform of Operation Fit Kids, as well as raise funds for Children's Miracle Network!  More information to come on this exciting event!

Central Missouri Honor Flight

This has been a busy week! On Monday night, I went to see off the Veterans on the 26th Central Missouri honor Flight. Central Missouri Honor Flight has raised over $2 Million to send 1551 veterans to Washington D.C. to visit their Memorials and have a proper welcome back home in appreciation for the service that they have given to their countries. Many of these Veterans served in WW II and the Korean War.

I was honored to meet some of the gentlemen traveling on this flight and greet them upon their return and hear the many stories that they had about their 24 hour journey. It was so moving and emotional!  Here are some of the pictures from my visit.

Dream Factory 5K Run/Walk - November 16th

If you would like to participate in a great 5K come on out to Stankowski Field at the University of Missouri on November 16th. The Dream Factory "When I Grow up" 5K raises money for kids with critical and chronic illnesses so they can do something special that they want to do. I will be there helping out with the race. Mizzou Homecoming Parade
